Hello everybody and welcome to "Mojo Oro" lesson serial. I've had many requests to do this song as a lesson so finally here it is. :)
This first part covers opening section-main theme and a second part of main theme. Now, I guess you'll have most of the problems with grooves so let me explain that first.
Main theme is actually nothing but 2 bars of 4/4 measure PLUS one extra pre-beat or pre-bar of 1/4. So it should be counted as 1+8(1+2x4). Then comes the second part of main theme. This part switches between 5/8 and 7/8 bars and it has only one 1/4 pre-bar at the beginning of this section, rest of it is just 5/8,7/8,5/8,7/8 etc.
After that we simply go back to main theme and play it once,that's all.
Scale wise, most of the time it's E Phrygian over E chord and D Dorian #4(same notes as E Phrygian tho) over Dm chord. Later on we include scales such as A Dorian #4 and B E Phrygian. Tempo is 170 bpm.
