Hi GMC! I'm proud to bring you this time a lesson that has some unusual techniques that uses players like Erik Mongrain. This lesson is a song that I composed based on some typical elements that make percussive guitar a great way to play solo and create so many different sounds.

I explain in the video some of those unusual ways to play the guitar and why is easier in that way. I use some slap and tapping also in this lesson.

The tuning (from low to high) is: DADGAD

The alternative tunings are very important in this style because it allows to the interpreter to use the natural harmonics to make melodies and the open strings to create a different harmony. In order to do that is important to let ring all the notes.

There are some players that you can also listen: Justin King, Randy Collins, Andreas Kapsalis, Andy McKee, Kaki King, Bob Kilgore and Michael Garfield.

I hope you'll enjoy learning this lesson as much I've enjoyed making it.
