Hello GMC! This time we are going to learn a brief composition of tangos. The first thing that I must say is that tangos flamencos are nothing to do with argentinian tangos, not in form or origin. Tangos flamencos are a style in 4/4 time, usually in a cyle of 8 beats. Accents falls on 1,3,5,7.

The initial part of the word "tang" may have an onomatopeyic sense, for a resounding noise or for the percussion of an instrument. It also symbolises a swaying movement. Another possible source is from tangir, which in turn comes from the Latin tangere, to touch).

Tangos are a sensual dance style, with popular origins, made great by flamenco figures from the Seville and Cádiz school. It is a style with a very lively and heavily accented rhythm; together with the bulería it forms the essence of any flamenco party (toques festeros).

In the technical order, we will see rasgueos, melodic thumb and alzapúa technique, and a couple forms for golpe (tap on the guitar board).
