Hi GMC! This lesson is a modern progressive lesson that would be great for beginner who needs to practice 7/8 riffs and rhythms. I have been inspired by bands like Tool and Incubus to compose this tune. These bands are New Metal bands very influenced by the most progressive bands. However, the band Dream Theater, which is older than them, have been influenced also by many Tool’s songs. So this lesson would be great for all the metal fans that would like to make their music more interesting.
As a part of this exercise you should check songs like "Nice to know you" (Incubus) or the complete "Aenima" album to know what I am talking about and then also set a drum backing with 7/4 meter and try to create your own riffs. (I recorded two "only drum" backings for you to practice this).
